A Recommendation I’d Happily Pass On!
My daughter has been struggling with SPAG at school, so we decided it was time to find her an English tutor - and we honestly couldn't have picked a better one. Catherine is amazing. She makes every session feel easy, fun and totally unique to Emily's needs.
The online sessions are a huge bonus too. I have to admit, I often catch myself quietly listening in because they are just that good! Catherine is calm, attentive and her many years of experience really shine through in everything she does.
We were recommended to her, and without hesitation, I'd happily pass that recommendation on. Catherine has been a wonderful help and we are so grateful to have found her!
Thank you, Catherine!

He Counts the Days Until His Next Session!
My son George has combined ADHD and struggles with certain aspects of learning, so I approached Catherine at House of Orkney for extra tutoring. George bounces into each session and counts the days till he can go again! He absolutely loves the environment Catherine has created and the sessions really cater to his interests. It feels like she truly understands him.

Confidence Growing After Just Two Sessions!
We’ve only had two sessions with Catherine so far, but I’m already seeing a noticeable difference in my daughter’s abilities and confidence. My daughter was recently diagnosed with dyslexia, and Catherine has been absolutely wonderful at making the classes fun and engaging for her.
The best sign is how much my daughter talks about her sessions – she genuinely can’t wait to go back each week! The weekly reports are fantastic as well; they give me real insight into where my daughter is academically and what progress she’s making. I finally feel truly informed about her learning journey.
We’re so grateful to have found Catherine and this tutoring service. Highly recommended!

From Anxiety to Confidence in a Supportive Learning Group
I am deeply committed to supporting my daughter Lydia’s learning, which she finds challenging. Initially, her heightened anxiety made attending group sessions difficult when facing new activities.
Your flexibility, accommodating approach, and warm demeanor have enabled her to build a positive relationship and grow in confidence.
Lydia now attends the weekly small group sessions and continues to make meaningful progress in her learning journey.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
From Lydia - “I really like it when Catherine does Harry Potter because it’s really cool! I have made some new friends and there is lots of fun stuff. I love how Catherine explains different things each week and helps me learn new things.”
Catherine has that rare gift of making learning fun and meaningful. She builds confidence, sparks curiosity, and creates an environment where children feel valued and capable.
Her new venture is an exciting step — one that will make a real difference for families in our community. If you’re a parent looking for tutoring that’s personal, encouraging, and rooted in years of classroom experience, I can’t recommend Catherine highly enough.
She’s thoughtful, organised, and pours her heart into everything she does — your child couldn’t be in better hands!

Kind Words from Delegates
The training provided practical strategies that can be applied easily into day to day practice to improve pupil engagement. The training helped me to understand more about the theory behind why these strategies are effective and it enabled me to reflect on my current practice.
